Story of Pope John Paull II Aired
In my previous post was the reaction of Pope Benedict after watching the mini-series on Pope John Paul II.
CBS aired part one of the mini-series last night at 9:00pm PST. The first part focused on the life of young Father Karol Wojtyla until his ascension to the Chair of Peter in 1978. I thought English actor Cary Elwes did a fine portrayal of the Holy Father. I just wonder why the producers did not choose Elwes to portray the Pope all the way to his death. Although Voight has more clout in Hollywood, I think Elwes could have brought a sense of continuity to the whole story.
