The Next World Youth Day Is In 2008
Okay, I'm calling my uncle and aunt in Australia to tell them I'm coming in 2008!
Australia is the next choice for WYD.
The 1995 event, in Manila, drew what was perhaps the largest crowd in human history, estimated at up to 5 million. [I was there as a tiny little speck among the 5 million!]
The 10 international events have been celebrated:
In 1985 in Rome
In 1987 in Buenos Aires, Argentina
In 1989 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain
In 1991 in Czestochowa, Poland
In 1993 in Denver, Colorado
In 1995 in Manila, Philippines
In 1997 in Paris, France
In 2000 in Rome
In 2002 in Toronto
... and God willing in 2005 in Cologne, Germany
