Bishop Headed To Rome

Our local bishop is headed to Rome in a week. Minutes before he processed to celebrate his final Sunday Mass as Archbishop, he was served a subpoena. I found this a sign of total disrespect to the office of the bishop and irreverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. They could have waited to serve him privately at his residence. If this was done to a church leader in any other religion, there would be such a protest.

Let us keep Archbishop Levada in our prayers as he faces past challenges as well as new ones.

About 3,000 parishioners attended his farewell Mass at St. Mary's Cathedral. Read more here.
