German Youth On The Pope

Teen mag gives away Pope posters ("He's a big star in Germany and people want to see him and hear what he's going to say.")

By way of Babelfish, I've translated here some of the German youths' response to the Pope's poster:

It is the Event of the week: The world youth day in Cologne with Pope Benedikt XVI.! Only into the new BRAVO (issue 34, EVT 17 August) the megaposter of the Event: Pope Benedikt XVI!
~~~~~
The Pope is a child of God like all of us, he is just closer to God. How deep has society now sunk that we must sell money with posters and branded articles, with the Pope's image?
~~~~~
I do not understand this action of the Bravo. On the one hand the Bravo supports the use of condoms and abortion (actions, which I support all 100%) On the other hand it distributes and prints a poster of a man, who stands world-wide for the absolute opposite of it. Are such humans left the new models for the youth? Did Bravo switch during the WYD. Why not print their posters of people like German Bank CEO, Josef Ackermann; Chancellor candidate, Angela Merkel; Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler Chrysler; Klaus Kleinfeld, CEO Siemens. Ratze is not a model for the youth!

~~~~~
The post which you write were wrong. I do not want to say I am a strict Catholic; however your accusations are genuinly not justified. Why do so many young people come to the WYD, into the Rhine country?! Were you not there yesterday in the stadium in Cologne? I saw it; unfortunately only on the television, but the whole event was bombastic! As many young persons there were simply unbelievable!
~~~~~
I find it amusing and illogical that on the few pages before the Pope poster are naked people.

~~~~~
One goes to the world youth day, not to see the Pope there but to be with other young people close to Jesus. The slogan reads:"We come to worship You". By "you" they mean Jesus Christ, not the Pope. Everything sounds in such a way that everyonge came in order to see the Pope, but it is not like that. Most young persons, which I know, are there to celebrate with other people their faith and to dialogue, etc. but not as principal reason that the Pope is there. That is beautiful that he comes, but that is not the main point!
... and to this I say, we must pray much for the youth in Germany and the whole of Europe!
